# Power On Instance

Turning on an instance starts a virtual machine that was previously turned off, allowing the VM to run applications and services. This process boots the operating system, and once the instance is running, charges may apply based on resource usage such as CPU, memory, and network.

To turn on an instance, follow these steps:

* Go to the **Instance** page. Select the instance you want to start. Click **More**, then select **Turn On**.
