Rebuild Instance

Rebuilding an instance restores it to its initial configuration by reinstalling the operating system. Before rebuilding, we recommend shutting down the instance gracefully from the operating system to help prevent data corruption. Rebuilding may permanently remove installed applications, custom configurations, and existing data inside the instance.

To rebuild an instance, follow these steps:

Go to the Instance page and select the instance you want to rebuild. Open the Rebuild menu, then click Rebuild.

After clicking Rebuild, the system displays the Rebuild Instance dialog. Select one of the available authentication methods to access the Rebuild instance.

Method 1: Rebuild Using Password

Select the Password option, enter a password in the Create Password field, and then click Submit to start the rebuild process.

After clicking Submit, the system displays a confirmation dialog. Enter the instance name in the provided field, and then click I understand the consequences, rebuild this Instance to start the rebuild process.

Method 2: Rebuild Using SSH Keys

After selecting SSH Keys, select an existing SSH Key from the list. If you have not added an SSH Key yet, click Add New SSH Key and complete the SSH Key creation process. After selecting or adding an SSH Key, click Submit to continue the rebuild process.

After clicking Submit, the system displays a confirmation dialog. Enter the instance name in the provided field, and then click I understand the consequences, rebuild this Instance to confirm and start the rebuild process.

A notification appears indicating that the rebuild process has started.

Wait until the rebuild process is complete. A notification appears indicating that the instance has been successfully rebuild.
