# Detach From Instance

You can detach a storage disk from a VM instance when it is no longer needed or before performing certain operations. Detaching the storage ensures that it is no longer attached to or used by the instance.

Open the **Storage** page by selecting the **Storage** menu.

In the **Action** column, click **More**, then select **Detach from Instance**.

Click **Confirm** to start the storage detachment process.

A notification will appear displaying the message "**Storage has successfully detach**".
