# Create a New Notebook

**Create a New Deka Notebook** is one of the features provided by the **Service Portal Deka GPU** to create a new Notebook. On the Service Portal Deka GPU page, select the **Notebook** menu to navigate to the **Deka Notebook** page. Press the **"+ Create Deka Notebook"** button to create a new Deka Notebook.

The **Create Deka Notebook** window will appear, containing several fields that you need to fill in to create a new Deka Notebook.

Enter the name that will be used to identify the Deka Notebook you are creating.

Select the **namespace** to be used. For more details about namespaces, refer to the **Namespace Type** subsection.

Select the **container image** to be used. In this guide, we use the **Jupyter base notebook (latest)**.

Specify the **Memory Size** to be allocated in this guide, we use **8 Gi**. This memory will be used to run computational processes such as model training, data processing, or executing the Jupyter kernel. The **Storage Size** used is **16 Gi**. The storage size will be used to store notebook files, data, libraries, or the output generated from computational processes.

In the **GPU Type** section, select an available GPU type.

Specify the **Purpose of Use** and press the **Submit** button to create the Deka Notebook.

Wait for the process to complete and for the notification **"Deka Notebook has been successfully created"** to appear.
