# Prerequisites

To use the **Log** **Collection** service, make sure you have the following prerequisites. You must have a **`kubeconfig`** file to access your Kubernetes cluster and use **`kubectl`** to enable container logs on Kubernetes. In addition, ensure that you have an **`api_key`** with logging permissions to export logs to other platforms.
