# Disable Rule

The **Disable Rule** feature on the Registry page allows users to **deactivate a rule** that was previously created and enabled. When a rule is disabled, the system will **stop applying the defined logic or policy**, and any matching conditions will **no longer be evaluated or executed** by the system.

Go to the **Tag Immutability** tab, locate the tag you want to disable, click **More** for the selected tag, then select **Disable** to deactivate the rule.

Locate the tag you want to disable, click **More** for the selected tag, select **Disable** to deactivate the rule, then click **Yes** in the confirmation dialog.

After the user clicks the **Yes** button on the **Disable Rule** confirmation, the system will display the notification **"Tags has been successfully updated"**, indicating that the rule has been successfully deactivated.

In the **Tag Immutability** table, disabled rules are marked with a **red icon featuring an exclamation mark**, as shown in the illustration. This red icon indicates that the rule is currently **disabled**
