# Update rule

The **Update Rule** feature is used to modify an existing tag immutability rule. To update a rule, go to the **Registry** page, select the **Tag Immutability** tab, locate the rule you want to update, click **More** for the selected rule, then select **Update**.

After clicking **Update**, the system displays the **Edit Tag Immutability Rule** form. Modify the rule as needed, then click **Update** again to save the changes.

After the rule is updated successfully, the system displays the notification, **"Tags have been successfully updated."**, indicating that the rule has been updated successfully.
