# Detach Interface

Here are the steps to detach an interface used by a virtual machine in the Service Portal AI portal:

* On the Service Portal AI page, select the **Instance** menu in **Deka Flexi**.

* Click **More** then click **Detach Interface** button in the **Action** column.

* Select the interface you want to detach, then click the **Detach** button.

* A notification will appear: **"Detach interface has been successfully"**, indicating that the interface has been successfully released.
