# Delete Storage

Deleting storage is used to remove a volume that is no longer needed. Before deleting storage, make sure to detach the storage from the instance first.

* On the **Storage** page, in the **Action** column, click **More**, then select **Delete**.

* A confirmation window will appear. Type the storage name in the confirmation field to proceed with the deletion. Click **I understand the consequences, delete this Storage** to confirm the deletion process.

* A notification will appear displaying the message "**Storage has successfully deleted**".
