# persistentvolume

The delete persistentvolume command removes a specified Persistent Volume (PV) from the Kubernetes cluster. Deleting a PV does not necessarily delete the underlying storage. Ensure that the volume is no longer in use before deletion to prevent data loss.

## Usage

```
cldkctl delete persistentvolume [name] [flags]
```

## Steps

Follow the steps below to run and view the result of this command:

1. If you want to view the list of Persistent Volumes before deleting, refer to the get persistentvolume section.
2. Run the following command in your terminal:

```
cldkctl delete persistentvolume [persistentvolume-name]
```

3. Replace `[persistentvolume-name]` with the name of the Persistent Volume you want to delete.
4. Once completed successfully, a message **“✓ Persistent volume deleted”** will appear in your terminal.
