delete

The cldkctl vm delete command permanently removes a virtual machine (VM) by specifying its name. This command deletes the VM and releases all associated resources, such as storage, service configurations, and allocated CPU/memory. Use this command with caution, as the deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone. Ensure that you have the necessary permissions before performing this operation.

Steps

Follow the steps below to run and view the result of this command:

  1. Run the following command in your terminal and replace <vm_name> with your virtual machine name.

./cldkctl vm delete <vm_name>
  1. Ensure that you have the appropriate permissions before executing the command.

  2. The system permanently deletes the specified VM and releases all associated resources, such as CPU, memory, and storage.

  3. Once the deletion process is complete, a confirmation message “Virtual Machine Deleted” will appear in the terminal.

  4. Verify that the VM no longer exists. Refer to the VM List section for detailed instructions on how to view the current list of virtual machines.
