# reboot

The baremetal reboot command reboots a bare metal server in your project. This command allows you to restart an existing bare metal instance using the specified project ID and server name

## Usage

```
cldkctl baremetal reboot [flags]
```

## Steps

Follow the steps below to run and view the result of this command:

1. Ensure that you already have a valid **Project ID**. Refer to the Project List section to obtain your project ID.
2. Identify the **bare metal server name** that you want to reboot. Refer to the Baremetal List section to find the server name.
3. Run the following command in your terminal:

```
cldkctl baremetal reboot --project [project ID] --name [bare metal server name]
```

4. Replace `[project ID]` with your actual project ID and `[bare metal server name]` with the name of the instance you want to reboot.
5. Once completed successfully, the terminal displays the success message **"Bare metal instance successfully rebooted".**

## Flags

2. The bare metal instance must be in a valid running state before it can be rebooted. If the instance status is failed, the reboot process cannot be executed successfully.
