# secret

The delete secret command removes a specified Secret from the Kubernetes cluster. Deleting a Secret is irreversible and may affect workloads relying on it.

## Usage

```
cldkctl delete secret [name] [flags]
```

## Steps

Follow the steps below to run and view the result of this command:

1. If you want to view the list of Secrets before deleting, refer to the get secret section.
2. Run the following command in your terminal:

```
./cldkctl delete secret [secret-name]
```

3. Replace `[secret-name]` with the name of the Secret you want to delete.
4. Once completed successfully, a message **“✓ Secret deleted”** will appear in your terminal.
